Holy weekend Batman.
This is my last official weekend in the United States Navy, and so far I'm going out with a bang.
We'll start with last night. Here I am in the middle of doing laundry, and fully prepared to go back to my barracks room and watch a movie while crocheting my little heart out. Then my friend Abby (from the cupcakes!) texted me and asked if I wanted to go to the Rainbow Cactus. I replied, "Sure. What is it?"
The Rainbow Cactus is a gay bar in Virginia Beach. I was immediately down. I haven't been to a gay bar since I snuck into one when I was in high school, and I had SUCH A BLAST then, I figured I would now, also. Plus, Abby's gay friend Will is major eye candy. ;-)
So I ran upstairs to figure out something with my hair, put on my pretty face, and get dressed. At this point my hair was wet from the shower, and in a bun. I had no idea what one wears to a gay club, so I just went with the only dress-up article of clothing I brought with me. (Sadly, no heels... I didn't think I'd need them, so I left them in Florida.) I love this red dress so much.
Anyways, we went and I had the time of my life. I danced my little heart out (I officially dance like "a straight white girl"......), watched a drag show, and laughed and laughed and laughed. It was so much fun. I loved the music, the fact that I could just have a great time and not get hit on, and being surrounded by super attractive men wasn't so bad either. (Though I definitely wasn't their type...) I danced so much, I think I can count it as a second cardio workout for the day!
Then we all went back to Abby's and I passed out. I woke up this morning with a slight headache, but none worse for wear. Then we decided to head off to Busch Gardens. I tried to clean up as much as possible, thankfully I had some laundry in my truck!
Busch Gardens was a blast! It was apparently Band/Choir day, since we saw at least 20 different middle and high school groups with t-shirts displaying what school they were from. So everywhere we went, we were surrounded by pre-teen/teenagers. It was cute for the most part, but sometimes it got pretty annoying. There was this one group of emo-esque pre-teens that was right behind us in line. I'm talking 12 year olds, and you should have heard the way they were talking! I mean, I'm an adult Sailor, and I was shocked to hear the things coming out of this blue-haired child's mouth.
Other than that, it was wonderful. Abby's boyfriend Andy is visiting from England, and they were super cute together! We ended the day on a water ride, and got SOAKED! I mean, drenched, and of course it was evening time, and getting chillier, so here we are walking around in soaking wet clothes looking for a funnel cake place, because we can't leave without a funnel cake. We end up back at the back of the park, and find our funnel cakes. Andy and I ended up getting a Strawberry Shortcake funnel cake, and it was covered in Sugar, Whipped Cream, Ice Cream, and Strawberry Glaze. They asked if I wanted hot fudge, and I was.... Um no. Thanks. That's enough.
Haha. I only ended up eating like 1/4 of it, before I had to toss it because I was getting sick. My poor body is just not used to that!! I bet my awesome cholesterol is sky high today. :) Then I came home and took a much needed shower and am ready to relax! Tomorrow will be dedicated to the gym (looking at my arms in these pictures is a whole bunch of motivation.... plus I need to work off the like 8,000 calories I consumed today...) and cleaning my gross disaster of a barracks room. Seriously, it's embarrassing. I have to start getting my stuff ready to leave, since come Friday, I'm driving back to Florida! So excited!
So I hope everyone else is having a stellar weekend!
