Where Have You Been All My Life?!

I'm in looooooooooove with the sauna at my gym. I just wanted to let y'all know that. Let me start at the beginning.

So somewhere today between napping, trips to Target (at which I bought nothing! Score!), playing Fallout 3 on XBOX, and other exercise-avoidance techniques, I told myself to just shut it, and go to the gym. See, I was planning on running this epic interval workout found in this month's Fitness magazine. But I did lunges with two 5 lb dumbells last night, so as the day progressed, so did the intense soreness in my rear area.

Yeah. You can totally tell I have been slacking on those lunges I used to do. And by slacking, I mean not doing them at all. Shameful, I know. Anyways. So finally I just said suck it up, and headed to the gym on base. I have never been to this gym, instead opting for running on the golf course. Um. Yeah. I think I found a new love for the treadmill. It's called plant a television on it (not sharing with the rest of the room, but my very own!) and give me cable. Which I do not have in my barracks room. (In fact, since the internet HATES ME, and stopped working for no reason, I don't even have Netflix on my XBOX anymore.) I ran a wayyyyy less intense interval session, in fact, I'm so out of running shape, I couldn't even keep that one up. I will be definitely be hitting the treadmill more often.

I could have gone longer, but my stupid feet started hurting really bad. The balls of my feet have ridiculous blisters on them. I think it's time for new shoes. It hurts to walk. Anyways. So I was leaving the gym, when I noticed on a flyer for the sauna. I had forgotten my roommate had said they have one. So I went to find it. Oh. My. God. It was bliss. If I didn't have my phone, and was afraid for it to get overheated, I could have spent like 5 hours in that thing. I'm going back ASAP. In fact, I'm kind of upset I have a lunchtime appointment tomorrow for my hair, since I will have to wait until the afternoon to go. Haha. I'm such a weirdo. But since one inch roots on blonde highlights haven't been in style since... um never, I need to handle that situation. Blast you hair for growing so quickly!

I took this attractive photo in the locker room. Who doesn't think red faces and sweaty pouring off my body is sexy? Because it's totally bringing all the boys to the yard. You know. In some alternate universe.

That's about it, I guess. Choosing a winner tomorrow!

P.S. Go NAVY SEAL team 6 for bringing justice to this country. I'm a huge fan of Osama Bin Laden being taken out. I'm even more a fan of America having the decency to give him a proper burial within the time frame for his religion. Getting rid of a terrorist is one thing. Desecrating the dead is another. I'm very proud of the Navy and America today.

  4. I once did lunges with weights that were too heavy and limped for 4 days. I'm still a little afraid of them. That gym did not have a sauna, though. Maybe that would help my jacked up hip?

  5. Using saunas is great, isn't it? Wish more people would use them more often. Saunas aren't just for detox or relaxation, they're also good for your skin, circulation and a slew of other health benefits. And yes, I don't think it's recommended you have your gadgets with you when you're in the sauna.
